Second graders have learnt about the main stages of growth, and relating it
to physical changes and the development of new activities.
The main objective of this activity was to identify the main stages of
growth, and to relate it to physical changes and the development of new
interests and activities.
First, students had to sort images of a person from youngest to
oldest (baby to elderly)
Next, students were given the “Stages of life headings” in which they had to
match each one to its corresponding image (baby, toddler, child, teenager,
adult, older person/elderly)
Finally, students had to take turns into reading different fragments of
their character’s life and match it to its corresponding life stage.
An interesting class discussing followed this activity in which students shared
their personal views on how interests and responsibilities change over the
years.
Amazing posters were created in groups to display the main stages of human
growth and development.
